A Texas sheriff has now placed cardboard cutouts of deputies next to roads known for speeders. Sheriff Robert Chody says the cutouts depict one of the department’s real-life deputies. It makes it look like there’s actually a deputy standing next to the road in the Fern Bluff neighborhood of Brushy Creek, pointing a speed-measuring radar device. So far it’s said to be doing the trick.
