A Florida man was feeling lonely and wanted someone to talk to, so he dialed the one number where he knew someone would answer — 911.
55-year-old Jeffrey Gorton told a 911 operator he was calling because he felt alone and needed someone to talk to. The operator told him that 911 is for emergency calls only and that if he abused it, he could be arrested.
Gorton apparently wasn’t paying attention because he went on to call 911 a whopping 17 more times until he was placed under arrest. In fact, when cops arrived at his house, he was on the phone with 911. He was charged with misusing the 911 emergency system.
