Dundalk resident Michele Gibson was killed in a single-vehicle accident yesterday morning on I-68 Westbound near Grantsville. A passenger in the car, 45-year-old Samuel Cirigliano of Baltimore, was taken by ambulance to UPMC-Western Maryland for treatment of injuries. The accident occurred when Ms. Gibson’s vehicle left the roadway, and struck the guardrails on both sides of the road; the car eventually came to rest on its wheels, on the right shoulder of the interstate. She was ejected from the vehicle, and investigators don’t believe she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The two right lanes were closed for a time, while the accident was cleared.
