HAMPSHIRE RELAXING PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURES

Hampshire County health officials have lifted the more stringent public health measures imposed earlier this month. While the county will continue to follow Governor Jim Justice’s stay-at-home order, it is still limiting maximum gatherings to ten people. The original measures were announced in mid-April, when a sixth case of coronavirus was confirmed; on April 19th, a 69-year old man died of the disease, and the county’s seventh case was confirmed two days later. There have been no new cases since that time. West Virginia is expected to begin slowly reopening state businesses this week.
