INSTITUTE OF NOTRE DAME TO CLOSE

Declining enrollment, financial hardships, and the COVID-19 pandemic have led school officials to announce the closing of the Institute of Notre Dame, Baltimore’s oldest Catholic school. Enrollment has dipped to 43 per cent in the last five years. Alumnae of the school include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski. The School Sisters of Notre Dame also operate the school’s neighbor, Notre Dame of Maryland University and Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson.
