COMMISSIONERS SUBMIT CARES ACT FUNDING PLAN

The Allegany County Commissioners have announced its submission of a plan to the Maryland
Department of Budget and Management for its non-health related funding allocations under the new federal CARES Act. The county was notified on April 16th that Allegany and 18 counties with a population of less than 500,000 would be receiving a total of $12.3 million in federal funding. Half of those fund were to be utilized for health-related expenditures and would be drawn down on a reimbursable basis through the local health department.
