Hampshire County resident Erwin McCary was wounded, and Keyser resident Deavonta Jerome Johnson has been jailed in a shooting incident early yesterday morning on Route 220, south of Keyser. The shooting took place as Johnson was handling a gun, as he was sitting in the rear seat of a vehicle. The gun discharged, striking McCary, before passing through the bottom of the seat and lodging in the floorboard of the vehicle. Jones was located at his Keyser home, and was jailed at the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail in Augusta in lieu of $15,000 full cash bond.
