WATER RATES TO INCREASE 5% JULY 1

Cumberland residents will see water rates increase five per-cent, beginning July 1st. The announcement was made during a llivestreamed meeting on Tuesday. Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss says the water rate increase was enacted by the prior administration. Also,Cumberland could see budget losses of up to $830,000 due to the coronavirus’ impact on income tax withholdings and a decline in tourism dollars. The property tax rate will remain unchanged at just over 1 per cent of the assessed value of homes.
