MAN SHOT BY TROOPERS DIES

A man, shot by Pennsylvania State Police troopers last month during a domestic incident, has died. Forty-five-year-old James Best died earlier this week at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Troopers responded to the incident on Pitt Street last month; Best allegedly pulled out a knife, and did not obey commands to drop it. They shot Best, then rendered aid until EMS arrived on the scene. The troopers involved were placed on administrative duties; the incident is being investigated by the Pennsylvania State Police and the Bedford County District Attorney’s Office.
