A fire late Saturday morning caused $225,000 worth of damage and destroyed an apartment complex on 20 Front Street in Lonaconing. The preliminary cause of the fire was the electrical failure of a toaster in one of the units, which are owned by Mark and Lucinda Nolan. Three people were taken to the hospital, two from one apartment, and another for medical related issues. About 75 firefighters from the Goodwill fire company responded. The Red Cross is assisting those affected.
