Fifty-four-year-old Tonya Dibert, of Bedford County, is being charged with stealing over $54,000 from the Lower Snake Spring Valley Church. Ms. Dibert worked there as a board member. Church officials contacted State Police regarding money that was missing from the church bank account. Further investigation showed that a total of 37 checks, totaling $54,000 were written from the account, to her. She is also accused of using the church credit card to make several purchases. She used the money for bills, credit cards and quote, “other things.” She has a preliminary hearing, scheduled for November 4th.
