UPMC-Western Maryland has announced the appointment of Michele Martz as the new, incoming president of UPMC-Western Maryland, effective January 1, 2021. She succeeds Barry Ronan, who is retiring after serving as President and CEO of the Western Maryland Health System, and President of UPMC-Western Maryland since 2000. Ms. Martz currently serves as senior vice-president and chief financial officer. She is a lifelong resident of the area, a West Virginia University graduate, and gives her time in several volunteer leadership capacities throughout the region UPMC-Western Maryland serves.
