MAN CHARGED WITH ARSON IN MOBILE HOME FIRE

Thirty-three-year-old Derik Gene Sanders has been charged with arson, after Deputy State Fire Marshals say he intentionally set a vacant home beside his residence on fire in Rawlings late Saturday morning. The 20 X 80 mobile home sustained extensive damage and is considered a complete loss. Witnesses say Sanders was seen fleeing from inside the home moments after observing the fire. He was taken into custody and faces numerous arson-related charges. If convicted, he faces over 50 years in prison and nearly $40,000 in fines.
