COVID CASES RISE TO 857

The Allegany County Health Department is reporting 62 new COVID-19 cases since Friday, bringing the total number of cases to 857. The latest cases include nine children age 12 or under, two females and seven males in their teens, three women and nine men in their 20s, eight females and three males in their 30s, two men in their 40s, five women and four males in their 50s, five females and one male in their 60s, a man and woman in their 70s and two women in their 80s. Health officials continue to urge everyone to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19, by following CDC guidelines. County residents are also urged to get a flue shot this fall to help minimize the impact of two dangerous respiratory illnesses circulating at one time. In Garrett County, the Health Department there received nine additional positive COVID-19 results, bringing the total positives to 176. Currently in the county, 67 persons are isolating due to a positive COVID-19 test.
