TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES, AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

Cumberland residents Brian Wade Simmons and Perry Nelson Hamilton were arrested this past weekend, following a traffic on Queen City Drive. A K-9 free air sniff resulted in officers recovering CDS paraphernalia, a quantity of heroin and fentanyl, packaged in a manner to indicate distribution, and a large sum of money. Simmons received a District Court hearing, and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond. Hamilton was issued a criminal citation and was released, pending an appearance in District Court.
