BERKELEY COUNTY ABUSE CASE TO BE RESOLVED

A resolution is on the horizon in a 2018 abuse case, stemming from a special needs classroom at Berkeley Heights Elementary School. The Berkeley County Board of Education unanimously agreed to settle the lawsuits, and yesterday, a hearing was held to approve and distribute the settlement proceedings. The terms were not disclosed. Amber Pack, the mother of a special needs daughter placed a recording device in the child’s hair, that picked up alleged verbal and possible physical abuse. A former teacher and two aides were later charged with single misdemeanor counts of failure to report suspected abuse and neglect.
