MAN RELEASED AFTER THEFT INCIDENT

Cumberland resident Jakeenan Corderay Jennings faces theft charges following an incident early yesterday morning. He had taken a taxi service from Frostburg to a residence on Maryland Avenue in Cumberland and didn’t pay the fare. Police say he asked the taxi to take him to the 400-block of Virginia Avenue, to use the ATM, but was unable to get the money to pay the fare. He reportedly created a disturbance in the store. He was arrested, charged, and was released after being issued criminal citations. He will stand trial in Allegany County District Court.
