Allegany County Commission President Jake Shade has written to Governor Larry Hogan, to request all frontline healthcare workers and correctional officers in Allegany County, be included in the first round of COVID-19 vaccines, distributed by the state of Maryland. The letter pointed out that Allegany County has the highest positivity rate in the state. It added that the healthcare system is being strained by the surge of hospitalizations; correctional facilities continue to be pressured to find staff to maintain operations.
