The Allegany County Health Department is reporting 4,101 COVID-19 cases with 90 deaths to date. The current case rate is 198.41 cases per 100,000, well above the state rate of 43.9 cases per 100,000. Allegany County’s positivity rate is now at 18.12 per cent, while the statewide average is 7.89 per cent. Meanwhile, in Garrett County, there are 75 additional positive COVID-19 cases; they were also notified of the death of a county resident in their 70’s, who was a resident of a long-term care facility. This brings the total number of deaths in Garrett County to 9, either from COVID-19 or its complications.
