STATE OUTLINES LOGISTICS, TIMELINE FOR COVID-19 VACCINES

The state of Maryland expects to receive up to 300,000 coronavirus vaccines by the end of the month, and logistics of how the vaccines will be delivered and administered were discussed. Governor Larry Hogan and Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford both say they will take the vaccine in public to bolster public confidence in the shots. The priorities for the first round of vaccines will be health care workers, residents and staff in long-term care facilities, and first responders. The initial doses of the Pfizer vaccine could get to Maryland as soon as next week, if the Food and Drug Administration grants the company an emergency use authorization.
