STATE TO PROVIDE MORE ECONOMIC HELP TO BUSINESSES

Governor Larry Hogan announced yesterday that $75 million in small business loans will now be converted to grants and will not have to be repaid. He urged local governments to match the state’s contributions and urged counties to finish allocating the CARES Act funding by the end of the year. The Governor also says businesses will not be subjected to increased unemployment insurance, due to the pandemic. Both he and Commerce Secretary Kelly Schulz urged the federal government to pass a stimulus bill, to provide economic relief to businesses and employees.
