A Points, West Virginia couple was killed and two other people were critically injured in a head-on crash near Shanks on Friday morning. James and Shirley Burkett were killed when their vehicle was hit by another, driven by Jermiah Behr of Springfield; in Behr’s car was a 12-year-old passenger. Investigators say bald tire on Behr’s vehicle likely caused his car to slide out of control, into the Burketts’ car.
