MILLER RESIGNS FROM GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Maryland Senate President Thomas “Mike” Miller is resigning from the General Assembly, effective immediately. Miller, who is battling Stage 4 prostate cancer, cited his failing health and the fact that he no longer had the strength to serve. He served as Senate President for 33 years, longer than anyone else in the country, before giving up the gavel last year. He was replaced by Senator Bill Ferguson of Baltimore City; Miller retained his seat, representing parts of Prince George’s, Calvert, and Charles Counties.
