The Allegany County Health Department is reporting 98 new COVID cases and one additional death since Monday. The cumulative case count is 5,374 with 154 deaths. The current case rate is 40.78 cases per 100,000 population; the state average is currently 37.01 cases per 100,000. The county’s positivity rate is now at 8.55 per cent, while the statewide average is 8.22 per cent. There will be no fairgrounds drive-thru testing and no media updates tomorrow, New Year’s Day. Testing will resume on Monday, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Allegany County Fairgrounds.
