The city of Cumberland Engineering Department has announced several street construction projects in South Cumberland over the next eight months. Between now and August, construction will be performed on Offutt, Elder, Humbird, Mary, Ella Avenue, Virginia Avenue and Lexington Avenue, among others. The roads will be closed or flagged to safely facilitate construction between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. All roads are expected to be open to traffic at the end of each work day and on weekends. The work is being done in conjunction with Columbia Gas of Maryland.
