One person was killed in a Saturday house fire in Romney; the blaze remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal. The house was in the 5800-block of Grassy Lick Road; volunteers searched the burning home but were forced out by what was called a “heavy fire load.” Fighting the fire was complicated by exploding propane tanks.
