While fire officials continue the investigation into Saturday’s fatal fire in Romney, it is now known the victim was a 94-year-old woman and the cause was “most probably accidental in nature,” according to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office. The fire was reported around 3:11 a.m. in the 5800-block of Grassy Lick Road. Fire companies from both Mineral and Hampshire Counties were on the scene for about 8 hours.
