Oakland resident Leslie Gillespie has been charged with 26 counts of animal cruelty. Initially, on December 23rd, Garrett County deputies responded to a report of animal neglect. Seven dogs and a goat were located outside the residence on Wilson Road. On Christmas Eve, a search warrant was obtained, and two additional malnourished dogs and three dogs kept in inadequate living conditions were found. A total of 12 dogs and one goat were relinquished by the owner. Ms. Gillespie was the owner/operator of Wheaten Hills Kennel.
