WOMAN HELD ON ASSAULT, DANGEROUS WEAPONS CHARGES

Cumberland resident Shayna Cherry Fitzwater is being held without bond, on two separate arrest warrants. The first was a bench warrant for failure to appear in court October 19th, on previous charges of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft, and destruction of property. The second stemmed from an incident from January 28th, in which she allegedly assaulted a man with a baseball bat, before fleeing the residence. She has been charged with first and second-degree assault, false imprisonment, and having a dangerous weapon, with intent to injure.
