DEMOCRATS PROPOSE UNEMPLOYMENT SYSTEM REFORMS

Democratic leaders in Annapolis have announced several proposed reforms for the state’s unemployment insurance system. The bill would ensure Maryland residents can receive unemployment benefits through direct deposit and would simplify the steps to get a paper check. It would also provide for more staffing at the unemployment call center and would make it easier for people to leave a callback number.
