HOUSE OVERRIDES HOGAN’S EDUCATION VETO

The Maryland House of Delegates has overridden the Governor’s veto of the controversial plan to fund state schools. The bill will now be sent to the Senate for consideration. When and if fully implemented, the price tag for the bill would be $4 billion each year. Proponents of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Education Plan say the coronavirus pandemic makes it more important than ever to implement the reforms. Governor Larry Hogan, in a statement, says it is “unthinkable” that the Legislature would even consider doing thinks while so many Marylanders are struggling.
