West Virginia Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, the newly-appointed chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, has urged President Joe Biden to reconsider his executive order revoking a presidential permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline. In a letter to the President, Manchin noted that Keystone XL and other pipelines, quote, “continue to be the safest mode to transport our oil and natural gas resources, and they support thousands of high-paying, American union jobs.”
