Forty-year-old Cumberland resident Perry Nelson Hamilton faces drug possession charges, following a traffic stop in the area of Independence Street Tuesday. A K-9 scan of the vehicle alerted officers to the presence of CDS. The vehicle was searched, and a quantity of heroin and paraphernalia were found. Hamilton received a District Court hearing, and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, held on a $5,000 bond.
