MARYLANDERS RECEIVE UNEMPLOYMENT OVERPAYMENT NOTICES

Many Maryland residents, who are receiving unemployment benefits, are now being told they were paid too much. They’re receiving notices from the state that they were paid up to $9,000 too much. Some workers filed for unemployment using an estimated income, and later confirmed it with documentation. The Maryland Department of Labor, which says it has processed 95 per cent of all claims, spent $172million to temporarily increase staff, due to the number of average daily calls-at 21,000.
