ONLY ONE NEW COVID-19 CASE

There have been no COVID-19 deaths since Monday and only one new case in Allegany County. Allegany County’s positivity rate is less than half of the state of Maryland. The local rate is 1.41 per cent, while the state rate is 3.28 per cent. The Allegany County Health Department is reporting that 10,308 residents have received at least their first dose of the vaccine; 7,206 of those individuals are now fully vaccinated with their second dose. Health officials remind the public that, even if you have been vaccinated, it is still very important to continue to wear a mask when around others who don’t live with you, maintain at least six feet social distancing, wash your hands, and clean and sanitize high touch surfaces.
