District 1-A Delegate Wendell Beitzel held a hearing yesterday on prescription drug monitoring. The bill would provide oversight on opioid prescribers, and would require them to notify the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program if the patient has received education regarding the opioid and potential antidotes to reverse an overdose. They must also report to the Program whether or not they have prescribed an opioid overdose reversal agent.
