ONE DEATH, SEVEN NEW COVID CASES

There has been one death and seven new COVID-19 cases, as reported on Friday by the Allegany County Health Department. The cases per 100,000 percentage is one-fourth that of the state. Allegany County reported 3.25 cases per 100,000 while Maryland’s rate is 12.39. The positivity rate is a little more than half the state rate, with Allegany County reporting 1.74 per cent; the state, as a whole, reported 3.28 per cent. Nearly 11,000 residents have received at least their first dose of the vaccine. The Health Department has announced that it had transitioned to Phase 1C of the vaccination plan, which includes those aged 65 or older.
