BILLS JEOPARDIZED BY PANDEMIC BACKUP

The legislative process in the Maryland General Assembly is being significantly complicated due to precautions against COVID-19. Backups are occurring because it is very difficult administratively to move bills along the legislative process. Leaders in both chambers are limiting the amount of time lawmakers can be in session each day due to the pandemic. There is about a month left in the General Assembly’s 90-day session. Adjournment is scheduled for April 12th.
