Cumberland resident Bianca Shanae Murphy has been charged with robbery, theft and assault, following an incident in the 400-block of Virginia Avenue over the weekend. A person was trying to withdraw money from an ATM machine, when Ms. Murphy was accused of trying to grab the cash and take it from the victim. A struggle ensued, with the victim being thrown to the ground. Officers were able to separate the two, and Ms. Murphy was arrested. She received an initial court appearance and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, where she was held without bond.
