An inmate was injured during an altercation at the Western Correctional Institution Tuesday morning. The inmate remained hospitalized as of yesterday. The victim was a man in his 60’s, and he was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland by the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department ambulance. The incident is being investigated by the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services and WCI officers.
