TEN NEW COVID CASES IN ALLEGANY COUNTY

The Allegany County Health Department is reporting ten new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths as of this past weekend. There are 13,602 residents who have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; 8,797 of that number are now fully vaccinated with their second dose. The county’s positivity rate is less than half of the state. Allegany County reports a positivity rate of 1.72 per cent; Maryland currently stands at 3.96 per cent. Any Allegany resident still wanting to receive a COVID-19 vaccine who has not already completed a Vaccine Interest Form should do that by going to health.maryland.gov/allegany.  You only need to complete the form once, and you will be contacted by either the health department or UPMC Western Maryland when it is your turn for the vaccine.  Currently, the health department is vaccinating individuals age 65 and older and also individuals in certain employment sectors including mass transit, grocery stores, clergy, postal service, manufacturing, public health, and public safety.
