The Allegany County Health Department is reporting 4 new COVID-19 cases and no additional deaths. The Health Department also reports that 15, 185 residents have received their first dose of a two-dose vaccine against COVID-19; that equates to just over twenty per cent of the population. Of that number, 9,381 are now fully vaccinated with their second dose. Allegany County residents who have not signed up to be contacted by either the Health Department or UPMC-Western Maryland when vaccine is available for them locally can do so by completing the Vaccine Interest Form at “health.maryland.gov/allegany.” The county’s positivity rate is now about one-fifth of the state’s rate.
