PREAKNESS TO LIMIT FANS TO 10,000

A limited number of fans will be allowed to watch the middle jewel of horse racing’s Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore this year. The Maryland Jockey Club announced that the crowd for the 146th Preakness Stakes will be capped at ten-thousand. Governor Larry Hogan says the state worked with the Jockey Club to develop a safe reopening plan.Tickets for the May 15th event will go on sale on April 5th. Starting today, fans with tickets from last year’s Preakness will have a chance to relocate to the nearest equivalent seats for this year’s race. There were no spectators for last year’s October Preakness Stakes which was the third leg of the Triple Crown due to pandemic-related schedule changes.
