STATE POLICE ISSUE NEARLY 250 CITATIONS

Maryland State Police say they issued almost 250 citations over a four-day enforcement initiative Thursday through Sunday.  They targeted areas along I-70, I-695, and I-795 according to a press release.  Eighty people were cited for speeding, nine people were arrested for drunk or drugged driving, and overall, 248 citations were written and 78 warnings were issued.  They also investigated a crash believed to be connected to an illegal street race.  Police say those charged with illegal racing face up to a 500-dollar fine and jail time.
