DOJ SEIZES THREE WEBSITES

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Maryland says it has seized three websites that had been collecting visitors’ personal data.  The websites claimed to be biotech companies developing treatments for coronavirus, but they were stealing peoples’ personal information and using it for fraud, phishing and deploying malware.  Prosecutors name health-bridge-science-dot-com, global-pandemic-vaccines-dot-com and geno-bio-science-dot-com as the perpetrators.  Anyone trying to visit the sites now will see a notification that the domain was seized by the federal government.  Those who believe they may have been a victim of fraud can call the National Center for Disaster Fraud Hotline.
