COUNTY REACHES 20,000 VACCINE MARK

Allegany County has hit the mark of 20,000 residents who have been vaccinated with their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine yesterday. As of yesterday, 20,501 Allegany County residents have received their first dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, just over 29 per cent of the population; 904 received the single shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Allegany County Commission President Jake Shade noted that the county is seeing a great increase in the pace of vaccination, and is on track to meet the increased demand in volume over the next few months. He also noted that the Allegany County Office Complex is once again open to the public, and that the Commissioners’ meetings are open to the public, following social distancing guidelines.
