ALLEGANY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS’ COVID-19 UPDATE

For the week of April 5th, the Allegany County Public Schools report five cases of COVID-19 in staff members, and 14 cases of COVID-19 in students. They will complete the required isolated period, before returning to their school buildings. Close contacts at school were identified in three of the staff cases and eight of the student cases. ACPS had 12 staff members who were reported as quarantined this past week, due to either a close contact with a positive person or COVID-Like Illness. ACPS had 211 students who were reported as quarantined due to either a close contact with a positive person or COVID Like Illness. ACPS had one classroom at Beall Elementary School that met the Maryland Department of Health’s definition of a classroom outbreak.
