An inmate at the North Branch Correctional Institution was treated at UPMC-Western Maryland after suffering stab wounds in a fight yesterday. The 29-year-old inmate sustained puncture wounds, after being stabbed by a homemade weapon. The fight, in a housing unit, involved three inmates. No officers were injured and the altercation remains under investigation.
