“SINE DIE” FOR 2021 GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION

Last night was Sine Die, a Latin term used for the end of the General Assembly session, which Governor Hogan termed “our best legislative session in seven years,” including action on both the $52 billion budget and the COVID Relief Act. Lawmakers took action on sweeping police reform legislation by overriding Governor Hogan’s veto of the bill. The Senate considered around 967 bills in the 90-day session, while the House considered 1,380. A bill signing ceremony is set for later today.
