CRASH-RELATED DEATHS UP, DESPITE LESS TRAFFIC

A new report says crash-related fatalities in Maryland were way up last year despite there being less traffic amid the pandemic.  It says there were 569 people who died in car accidents in 2020.  That’s a six-point-four-percent increase from the year before.  Both pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities were up as well.  The total number of crash fatalities was the highest in the state since 2008.
